Astrit Patozi was the one to launch the idea of allowing fractions among
the party, to make it more united. He thinks that the opposition’s
biggest party is degrading under the leadership of Lulzim Basha.

After Basha categorically refused the idea, Patozi responded: “This means that Basha has a bolshevik mentality. He’d rather have a family cottage than a skyscraper”.

It is still unclear how Basha will be opposed from within the DP, since his opponents have no current plan to form a new party.

“We will impose the will of the many democrats who want another democratic party. We will impose that will through pressure, so that the DP leadership forces Basha to change stances”, Patozi declared.

Before releasing this declaration, Patozi was consulted with former Democratic Party leaders, Ridvan Bode and Genc Ruli, and with other members of the Democratic Party.

But Lulzim Basha didn’t stay silent. He declared that his only opponent is Edi Rama and “his criminal alliance”, while the opposition, Basha said, is the “alliance of values”, and it has room for remarks before taking joint decisions.
