The long drought has obliged the Albanian government to intervene and
change the state budget. Top Channel ahs revealed the normative act of
the Ministry of Finances, which changes the budget for the energy and
reserve fund.

The reviewed draft of the government foresees 3 billion ALL for the energy sector, from 1.5 billion that it had planned in the beginning of this year. The additional funds will be used to pay credits of public energy companies.

Due to the large amounts of imports, the state energy companies, especially the OSHEE, have interrupted payment for debts taken under government guarantees. These payments will now be taken over by the state budget.

But energy is not the only element that is being changed. Drought has its own cost, as regards emergencies.

The reviewed draft increased the Council of Ministers Reserve Fund with 1.2 billion ALL, used for fires, but also for other unpredictable events that could take place until the end of the year.

The government has also increased with 2 billion ALL the plan of budget revenues, which means that the budget will collect more revenues. In parallel, they have saved 4.1 billion ALL from debt interests.
