The Central Election Commission has started a cooperation with experts
from South Korea, to study how technology can be used in the next
elections. In theory, it is possible.

Denar Biba, Chairman of the CEC, says that using technology in elections is possible. But putting it in practice, that’s another thing.

“Such projects require time and preliminary pilot tests, before they are implemented nationwide. It requires 20 months or two years”, Biba says.

The CEC said that there is not enough time until the next elections, not even for implementing the pilot-projects as foreseen by the current Electoral Code.

“I don’t know about any country that has implemented the technology in five months”, Biba said.
