US Ambassador: “Rama and Basha must vow to meet on Monday and not leave without agreement”

“Everyone is tired with the Albanian leadership”, said the US
Ambassador in Tirana, Donald Lu, who criticized the Albanian political
class for the justice reform. He also gave a last proposition for
resolving the stalemate.
Lu said that the opposition leader has broken his promise to Victoria Nuland, while Rama has said that he will stop the negotiations and would accept any proposition accepted by the US and the EU. “I reject this too”, Lu said.
He underlined that the responsibility for Albania is on its leaders. The Ambassador challenged Basha and Rama in a second meeting.
“I challenge them to meet and promise in public they will not leave the room without a solution. Let’s see who really favors compromise”, Lu said.
He added that “organized crime leaders are afraid from the justice reform and they are fighting against the people of Albania who want the reform”.
