Too many politicians with a dirty crime record, revealed by “Decriminalization”

The “Decriminalization” process made Albanians see the names of the
politicians who have been sentenced in the past for a series of crimes,
starting from illegal arm possession, to public indecencies and
assaults.

The Democratic Party MP, Mhill Fufi, from Lac, has been arrested three times, once for the coup of September 14th, 1998; twice from 2000 to 2001 for favoring prostitution. Both cases were suspended by the Prosecution.

Armando Prenga, now an independent MP, is being prosecuted for illegal arm possession and threats made in September 2015.

MP Tom Doshi was sentenced in 1990 for indecent behavior, but based on the criminal code of the dictatorship.

The General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Arben Ristani, was sentenced to five months in prison in 2005, for giving an unfair verdict. He was amnestied later. The disposition was repealed in 2008 by the Constitutional Court and Ristani was held for 48 hours.

Minister Blend Klosi has been tried in 1994 for soliciting minors under 14, a cases that was suspended and no crime was registered.

The leader of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Edi Paloka, has been sentenced in 2015 for slander; has been under investigation in 2001 for illegal manifestation; has been arrested in the act in 2000 and sentenced with 10 days in prison for illegal manifestation.

The Democratic Party MP, Alban Zeneli, has been sentenced to six months in prison for a violation of the traffic code in 1992, and for resisting police in 1996.

Shkelqim Selami from the Socialist Movement for Integration was arrested in Italy for an unidentified crime, but has been released.

Socialist Party MP, Pjerin Ndreu, was arrested in 2004 for abuse with phone calls, but was released later.

Perparim Spahiu from the SMI was arrested for “assault because of the duty”, but the case was suspended for failing to prove the crime.

The Socialist MP of Kavaja, Parid Cara, has been fined with 800 EUR in 2005 for violation of the traffic code.

The list of Mayors starts with the Mayor of Kruja, Artur Bushi, investigated in 2011, in Italy, for drug traffic. He was released later. In 1996 he has also been arrested in Italy, but for a crime “he doesn’t remember”.

Adriatik Zotkaj, was sentenced with three years in prison in 1996, for violation of the traffic code. He was sentenced in 2001 to 10 months in prison for resisting to the police, and with 1 year in 2002.

Xhelal Mziu, Mayor of Kamza, was sentenced by the Court of First Instance over power abuse in 2015 and was found innocent in 2016.

The Democratic Party Mayor of Mallakastra, Agron Kapllanaj, was sentenced to 2 years and a 200 EUR fine in Italy, in 2003, for a crime that has no been specified.

Elvis Roshi, twice Mayor of Kavaja, has been fined in 2000 and was under investigation two years later in Germany for a crime he claims he doesn’t remember. He has also been arrested for “assault because of duty” in March 2013, but was found innocent.
