Tirana Civil Court continued the process against the well known
investigative journalist, Ilir Yzeiri. Yzeiri was sued by the foundation
“Zonja e Keshillit te Mire”. The plaintiff is asking 100 million ALL
for moral damages.

The journalist presented to Judge Elbana Lluri the proofs on which he was based for treating at the program “Hapur” the issue of not implementing the last will of Mother Teresa. Among them were the declarations for the construction of a hospital, instead of which was built a university.

The journalist also filed the declaration of a citizen, who informed him that the land where the object was being built belonged to her. The journalist finally handed over to the judge a DVD with images from a concert of Ana Oxa, who was collecting funds for the construction of the hospital.

Since Yzeiri had not transcribed the part of the concert where the hospital is mentioned, the Court ordered the journalist to transcribe it with a licensed translator, for accepting it as a proof. Yzeiri chose to be represented by himself in the process, accompanied in every session by the head of the Journalist Union, Alexander Cipa and the analyst Andrea Stefani.
