Venice Commission Verdict for October 11th

The Venice Commission will publish an opinion on October 11th regarding the alleged Constitutional violations of the President of Albania, Ilir Meta, who decided to repeal June 30th as the local election day.

The declaration was made after the members of the Venice Commission delegation met with the MPs of the Parliamentary Investigative Committee which is trying to determine whether President Meta should be removed from his duty for this action.

When asked by Top Channel’s journalist, Muhamed Veliu, the members of the Venice delegation declared that they were happy with the meetings held in Tirana, and that they have received all the necessary information.

Muhamed Veliu: Are you happy with the meetings in Tirana?

Kaarlo Tuori: “Yes, we received a lot of information.”

Did you achieve what you were looking for?

“We received the information that we needed.”

When will the opinion be ready?

“On October 11th, during the plenary session of the Venice Commission”
