The US Ambassador to Albania, Donald Lu, was present in a meeting between citizens and experts, regarding the hydropowerplants in Valbona.
Ambassador Lu said that the USA supports an open and constructive dialogue between the civil society, private companies and the Albanian government.
“We hope for their discussions can lead to the protection of natural resources in one of Albania’s best national parks”, the Ambassador declared.
The representatives of the private companies that have started the construction of the hydropower plants said that the tourist area of Valbona will not be affected.
