Ursula von der Leyen, the elected President of the European Commission, has declared that there is no hope for having a positive answer regarding the EU accession negotiations for Albania and Northern Macedonia.
“Unfortunately, there are no positive signs for opening the EU accession negotiations for Albania and Northern Macedonia. I am sorry because I can say with certainty that both countries have made great efforts to get closer to the European standards, and they deserve a positive signal”, Ursula von der Leyen declared.
France is expected to officialize their vote against opening the EU accession negotiations for Albania, although almost every other country has given its support.
