Ursula von der Leyen: Balkan, a priority during my term

She reiterated this intention during the presentation of the new “cabinet” of the European Union, when Hungarian László Trócsányi was chosen Commissioner for Enlargement.

“I hope that Western Balkan will be very soon closer to the EU”, declared Von der Leyen, adding that the region is very important for the EU, and this will be the focus of her presidency.

As regards the EU accession negotiations of the six countries in this region, the EC President underlined that the rules have not changed.
