The vote counting process in some Tirana Zonal Election Commissions
(ZEC) is taking very slow steps. The ZEC 49 of Municipal Unit (MU) no.5
has continued a very slow count, due to frequent pauses made by the
tired vote counters.

11 of 65 voting centers have been counted up to now, with the Socialist Party (SP) candidate Rama leading with 3060 votes against the Democratic Party (DP) candidate with 2134 votes. The difference favors the SP candidate, but there are 44 other voting centers to be counted.

ZEC 46 of MU 2 has finished counting five other centers, beside the ones counted during the day.

From this count, SP candidate Edi Rama leads with 1576 votes against 1347 votes of the DP candidate Lulzim Basha, holding a difference of 229 votes.

The 7 other voting centers that finished earlier this day, counted 3756 votes for Rama and 2210 for Basha, with a difference of 476 votes in favor of the opposition leader. However, beside these 12 voting centers, there are 32 others still to be counted.

Meanwhile, MU3 has resumed the vote counting process after a 7 hour break asked by the vote counters, due to physical fatigue.

Five groups are currently working on the vote counting process, which have started the stamp checking procedures behind the ballot papers.

Two were the reasons of this long delay: the vote counters were tired and when they returned, there were problems with the replacement of some of them, due to required procedures.
