Tirana is one of the ideal places where traditional cultural values are interweaved with the modern ones. This can be seen in the architecture of the city, but also in the mentality of citizens, as modernity makes place for itself alongside history.
In these hot summer days, few people visit the New Boulevard before afternoon. This modern public structure is 1600 meters long, already built with sidewalks, green areas and wide lanes. The absence of cars, as it is not opened yet for the city’s traffic, makes it an ideal place for citizens to promenade during the evenings. It is usually frequented by people who used to go to Tirana’s Grand Park, and now have an option closer to home.
This new public space also includes an underground parking, while the project for the New Boulevard Central Park has already been presented, as one of Tirana’s most creative areas.
The symbolic of Tirana’s transformation is represented in this Boulevard by a steam locomotive of 1951.
