Terror continues in Fushë-Krujë

In the last two months, in Fushe Kruje were committed the gravest
violations of the Albanian Penal Code; explosive charges were set and
blown up in bridges, high voltage electricity posts and railways. These
criminal acts are so grave that cannot happen in such a
short period even during war time.

All these events are covered by a small police station that has only one investigation lead: the attacks are against the cement factory, because all explosions were set to disrupt its working flow.

The factory owners refuse to release comments for the public. Until some time ago, the factory owners gave to nearby families 30,000 to 60,000 ALL per house, due to the pollution.

The compensation was interrupted, and the 14 explosions took place right after this decision.

The police seem to be inexistent in this area, unable to catch any of the authors.

Some days ago, the police arrested five suspects, but these measures were followed by other explosions. The police made other arrests, but again, although the suspects were in prisons, explosive charges were set and blown up at another bridge and railway line.

When hearing the residents of this area, one might think that the police simply take under custody the common suspects, without sending anyone at court with charges.

Afrim Zalla says that police have often taken him in custody. He even says that every time that he hears an explosion, he and his neighbors wait the police to come for them.

“I stayed at the police station from 5 o’clock to 10, and no one questioned me. After 12:30 they started moving, giving me five or six papers to sign. Another explosion took place yesterday and police took me again. I don’t know what to do”, Zalla declared.

From the first day of its inauguration, the cement factory, led by Lebanese owners, had a difficult coexistence with the residents of this area.

The road where Ilir Meta, Prime Minister of the time, would pass for the inauguration, was blown up by an explosive.
