Socialist Party launched the electoral campaign in Korça city, where Edi Rama emphasized that the battle of the opposition is against the extreme poverty where this government has plunged the Albanians.

“Everyone knows that the major cause of these elections is not secondary to local problems. Sali Berisha knows that this is a personal and moral battle against the people in power. Above all, against Sali Berisha, who is responsible for the poverty, unemployment and the lacking of democracy in our country”, Rama declared.

The opposition leader said that May 8th election vote is for a different Albania, where, according to him, should predominate the law and not corruption and thievery, which, according to Rama, this government has turned into a governing system.

“The modern concept of citizenship and the essence of good local governance go beyond political parties. Sali Berisha and his marionettes are the opposite. His candidates are becoming like Berisha, and even worse”, Rama said.

Socialist Party leader said that Albania doesn’t need to have in every city clones of the Prime Minister and his escort. Because Albania, according to Rama, wants to go forward and not become their personal possession.

Socialist Deputy Pandeli Majko was on the same line, together with socialist’s candidate for Korça, Niko Petreshi, who also is the current Korça Mayor.

“We want to say to all Albanians to be careful and not sell their vote. Don’t lease it for the next four years”, Majko said to the Socialist supporters.
“We will win, because we are going forward”, Peleshi added.
