Gjirokaster Zonal Election Commission (ZEC) no 25 ended the vote counting process for two municipalities and 11 communes.

The Gjirokaster Municipality was won by the Socialists, while the Libohove Municipality by the Democrats. In this ZEC, four communes were taken by the candidates of “Unity and Human Rights Party”, more specifically: Dropulli i Siperm, Dropulli i Poshtem, Odrie and Pogon, all left to them by the Socialist Party as part of the alliance. The Democratic Party has won six communes: Lazarat, Picar, Cepo, Zagorie, Lunxhëri and Qender Libohove, while the Socialist Party took only the Antigonea commune.

The whole process has had only one incident in the commune Qender Libohove, during the vote count. Top-Channel’s correspondent, Kristina Fidhi, reports that the vote counters clashed for the result of the last ballot box, and ZEC expelled them with the help of the police.

The votes were counted by ZEC, resulting as winner the right centered candidate with a difference of only two votes.

Something unique happened in Lazarat, with the Democratic Party candidate Dasho Aliko taking 1750 votes, and Republika Kasamahu of the Socialist Party winning 200 votes: both rivals followed the process together and congratulated each other at the end.
