The electoral meeting of Socialist Party leader with the residents of Municipal Unit no.5 started with a serious incident.

One 18 year Socialist Party supporter was stabbed with a knife after a banal conflict with the supporters of the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI).

“We surely believe that the attackers really represent the DP-SMI alliance. This is something that should be stopped”, said Socialist deputy Eglantina Gjermeni.

While the Socialist supporters were entering the “Imperial” cinema, where the Tirana Municipality project for the next mandate was expected to be presented, they have exchanged harsh words with SMI militants near a SMI election office, few meters from the Cinema.

Some minutes later, when people were entering the cinema theater, some young people started attacking each other.

This conflict left one 18 year old stabbed, now undergoing an operation, while the author ran away.

Police arrived on the scene and started the investigations.

SMI reacted right after the incident with the SP supporters and declared that they are distant to any kind of incident.

SMI vice leader, Petrit Vasili, declared that SMI has no connection with these incidents and he invited the troublemakers to give up.

According to Vasili, SMI will continue its campaign only with programs and concrete ideas.
