Six companies, some of them from USA and Europe, are racing for building the biggest solar energy implant in Balkan, in Akerni, Vlora.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy is administering the bids, but the names of the companies have not been disclosed yet.
According to the project details, the solar park will have a minimal power of 50 MW and it will require 70 million USD of investments.
Private companies will receive the right to administer the plant for 30 years. The Albanian Energy Corporation guarantees to buy it for the first 15 years with price higher than import. The rest will be sold by the winning company to the free market.
