The National Museum of Science is now named after Sabiha Kasimati, an Albanian biologist and scientist who was brutally executed by the communist regime.

On the first day of the university academic year, the National Museum commemorated the woman that conceived, proposed and founded this institution, before she was killed.

Elsa Kasimati, a relative, said that her name has been under dust for so many decades, and it is finally being put to the spotlight.

There is a corner at the museum with materials that present Kasimati as a scientist and courageous personality.

The Minister of Education underlined that this is a special day for the national memory.
