Reporters Without Borders, Media Freedom report: “Albania and Kosovo, partially free”

Reporters Without Borders ranks Albania 75th in the world in its Media Freedom index, which is one step better than last year.
However, a joint verification between Reporters Without Borders and BIRN found many problems among Albania’s media outlets.
The report focuses on the fact that Prime Minister Rama has used some terms addressing journalists, such as “ignorant”, “poision”, “charlatans” and even “public enemies”.
Freedom House ranked Albania and Kosovo among the partially free countries, together with Macedonia, Bosnia-Berzegovina and Montenegro. Serbia and Croatia are listed as free countries.
