Red and Black Alliance: Parliament, illegal voting process

After the Parliament approved the new law against population
registration, which includes the declaration of ethnicity and religion,
the Red and Black Alliance asked the government to make public the list
of MPs.

The representatives of this movement suspect that the Parliament has not implemented the decision “one MP, one vote”, and that the Parliament did not have the necessary quorum.

“The Red and Black Alliance asked the Albanian Parliament to publish the list of the MPs that were present and also the list of those who voted in favor. The approval of the “Census” with 69 votes in favor and two in abstention by Party of Justice, Integration and Unity makes the process anti-constitutional, if the principle ‘one MP, one vote’ has not been respected”, declared Ardit Çollaku, representative of the Alliance.

The representatives of this group declared that the Albanian government was unable to resist to the Greek pressures, and they also criticized the absence of the opposition for discussing such an important law. The Alliance declared that they would wait the Parliamentary session that would review the draft-law, after having collected tens of thousands of signatures that demand to exclude from the questionnaire the questions about religion and ethnicity.
