The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, responded to the President’s decision about repealing the decree for having elections on June 30th.

Rama was introducing the candidate for Mayor of Berat, and he said that the elections of June 30th will be held.

“The protest is a desperate effort of those who will lose. The elections of June 30th will be held and these elections do not belong to the president or to the opposition. Their purpose is to destroy the elections”, Rama said.

He added that Case 339 is a lead, not evidence: “Bild did not make any investigation. Where did they get the surveillance tape? They don’t want justice to be the same for all. The Socialist Party has it flaws, but we’re on the right side of the history”, Rama said, calling the opposition leaders a desperate bunch that wants Albania away from Europe.
