Race for new Prosecutor General started, while there are voices for the favorite candidate

The Albanian Parliament has officially started the race for Prosecutor General a few hours after Adriatik Llalla’s term expired.
The Parliament notified all experienced Prosecutors to send their CVs together with their application.
The list with their names will be sent to Parliament by the Commission of Laws, which will vote the Provisory Prosecutor.
Right after the race, the name of the most probably candidate was made public. It is Ferdinand Elezi, who was today at the Prosecution General. When interviewed, he said that he was there to withdraw a statement about his years of experience.
However, members of the Prosecution say that today, an official holiday, there was no one at the Prosecution to issue a statement for him.
Ferdinand Elezi is known to be close to the Socialist Mayor of Durres, Vangjush Dako. According to the opposition, Dako is trying to block the cases that were being opened against him.
