Protest against 11-year-old Albanian girl in Santorini, Greece

The Santorini Police department is investigating a protest carried out by a group of people, who caused a tense situation today by the fact that an 11-year-old student of Albanian origin would hold the Greek flag during the parade for the national day of Greece.

The Greek law says that the flag will be carried by the student with excellent results, and this is why the girl was chosen to carry the flag.

But few minutes before the parade, a group of 20 persons, members of the Golden Dawn, tried to stop it from happening.

SYRIZA said in a press release that the “criminal ideas of the Golden Dawn have no room in the Greek society”, while the Communist party said that the attempt of the Golden Dawn to stop a 11-year-old is shameful.

It will remain to be seen if there will be a trial about this incident. While all Greek political parties have condemned what happened.
