President signs fiscal amnesty

The Albanian President, Bamir Topi, decreed yesterday the law 10 418
dated 21 April 2011 “For capital legalization and partial amnesty of Customs and Taxation debts”.
The fiscal amnesty will take effect right after the Finance Ministry will have the additional regulations prepared, and also the respective instructions and forms to be filled.
The work has started and these remaining procedures are expected to end within the next week, starting this way the implementation of this fiscal amnesty.
With the amendments done to the project after missing the opposition votes, this amnesty will pardon only one part of the business.
The businesses that are under investigation for tax evasion, that have open legal processes with the state or that are undergoing an appeal process, will not be part of the amnesty.
