Thousands of Albanians protested today on the roads of Presheva,
appealing the Serbian government to stop the discrimination against
them.

The protesters marched on the roads of the town and then gathered in a square, where they joined other Albanians from Medvegja and Bujanoc.

In this manifestation were present politicians, head of the three Albanian communes and representatives from the civil society.

They asked the Serbian government to stop discrimination against them, to increase investments and look for a solution for the resident’s daily problems.

“The message of this protest is to appeal the Serbian government to stop the discrimination. The Albanians in this region are being discriminated in education, culture, free movement and economic development”, declared the head of the Presheva Commune, Ragmi Mustafa.

The Albanian MP at the Serbian Parliament, Riza Halimi, declared that the Albanians’ dissatisfaction has been accumulated through the years and that now it is the time to resolve the problems of the three communes.
