Police sues protesting mineworkers

Police has filed a criminal suit for the 27 mineworkers, the alleged
organizers of the protest that blocked for two hours the Bulqize-Tirana
national road.

According to the Police, the protest was illegal and the organizers should take the punishment provided by law.

Meanwhile, ACR Company invite miners in Peshkopia to sit and negotiate about their requests.

In their stance after the latest developments, ACR declared that they are ready to start dialoguing with all miners, except for those who have used violence against the Company administration.

Miners block national road

On the 17th day of the hunger strike, the stance of the mineworkers and that of their family members has been radicalized even more. Dozens of supporters have blocked for more than two hours the national road Tirana-Bulqize exactly at the Qafe-Buall area.

The Police, assisted by the Special Forces, stayed ready by interfering several times for not aggravating the situation.

The mineworkers and the family members blocked the national axis as a sign of protest, after failing with the ACR meeting, while they warned another roadblock in the days to come.

Meanwhile, the hunger strike is entering its 17th day 1400 meters underground.
