The 60-year-old Caush Isaraj, from Picar, Gjirokastër, now living in Kamez, Tirana, threatened to kill himself by jumping from a high voltage electric post in Don Bosko area, Tirana.

He stayed on the 15 meters high post for more than 2 hours, communicating on his phone and refusing the calls of the police for getting down.

A team of RENEA Special Forces hurried at the scene, and after negotiating, two agents climbed the post for saving the suicidal man. They were able to climb to the top and the successful operation was followed by the applauses of curious passerby residents who were watching the scene.

But the joy lasted for only a few seconds. One of the police agents almost lost his life after falling a three meter height.

The agent was sent to hospital, with no danger for his life. The 60-year-old, when asked by the police, declared that he had taken that decision for making people aware of the injustices made to the land ownership issues in his village at Gjirokastër.

For the same property reasons, the same adventure was undertaken last year by a man who threatened to jump off the edge of a high building in front of the Ministry of Justice, where he was staying with his children.
