The US Embassy reiterates their support to the opinion given by OPDAT and EURALIUS regarding the procedures for appointing the new Prosecutor General.
“The Constitution and the law for the Prosecution are very clear. The US Embassy supports the legal opinion of OPDAT and EURALIUS. We support the parliament to implement the law”, the statement says.
The international missions, the US OPDAT and EURALIUS from the European Union, have supported the idea of appointing a new temporary Prosecutor until the new judiciary institutions are established.
Both missions don’t exclude the option of having the temporary prosecutor appointed by simple majority.
