In an official meeting with the officials of Montenegro, the US Special Envoy of the State Secretary for Western Balkan, Matthew Palmer, declared that by appointing him in this post, the US wants to prove that they are more involved in the region.
During his visit in Podgorica, Palmer spoke also about the other objectives of his duty, underlining that his priority is opening the EU accession negotiations for Albania and Northern Macedonia and reopening the dialogue between Prishtina and Belgrade.
Palmer, who was appointed by the US State Secretary Mike Pompeo on August 30th, said that his purpose is also to bring Kosovo and Serbia back to the dialogue table.
