Kosovo independence was recognized by the Republic of Benin, the 80th country that recognizes Europe’s newest state.

The Principal Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Behxhet Pacolli officially confirmed the recognition in the early hours of the day.

The recognition from the state of Benin was sent today to the Principal Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Behxhet Pacolli, by the President of Benin, Yayi Boni, during an official meeting.

“This recognition is a result of the consistent lobbing activities of Mr. Pacolli under his campaign for creating diplomacies with each country one by one”, says the press office of the Principal Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo.

The activities of Mr. Pacolli for the recognition of Kosovo will continue in the next days.

The republic of Benin borders with Togo, Nigeria and Burkina Faso.

The Capital of Benin is Porto Novo. The total territory of Benin is 110.000 square kilometers and it has around 9 million people.

Pacolli officially confirmed two days earlier the recognition from the African states of Guinea Conakry and the Republic of Niger.

These recognitions are a result of the intensive lobbing activity of the Principal Deputy Prime Minister Bexhet Pacolli.
