Obiliq commune in Kosovo will sue Kosovo Energy Corporation for damages caused to the local residents.
They feel discriminated because not only they have to endure the pollution caused by KEC, but they are also obliged to suffer the lacking of energy.
Head of the Obiliqi Commune, Mehmet Krasniqi, told to “Kosovapress” that the law suit is ready and will be submitted to the court if no solution will be given to their problems.
According to him, the suit includes accusations of massive environmental pollution by the KEC thermo centrals, in consequence of which the population is facing serious health threats.
Furthermore, the head of Obiliqi commune says that despite of the commune’s persistence to find a solution with KEC officials, they haven’t shown any interest in solving the matter.
Obiliq hosts two thermo centrals, Kosovo A and B, the processes of which pollute the air beyond any allowable norm.
