The Kosovo Albanian, Vedat Gashi, is one of the candidates of the New York State Assembly.
Earning the support of his political group, the Independence Party, he was nominated by the Democratic Party.
“Gashi is the independent voice that we need in a time when our nation and our community appears very divided”, said Kevin Byrne, who was the party’s candidate in the last election and who is now supporting Gashi.
