Italian PM: “Time to open accession negotiations with Albania”

“I think that the time is right to open accession negotiations with
Albania”, declared the Italian Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, in a
joint press release with the Albanian counterpart, Edi Rama.

The Italian news agency ANSA said that Gentilloni has specified that the matter could be discussed in the next EU summit that will be held in December.

“Albania has taken incredible steps even in other sectors, which the EU is watching closely”, said the Italian Prime Minister.
