Italian Foreign Minister thanks Albania for taking 20 of 150 Eritrean refugees

The Italian Foreign Minister, Moavero Milanesi, said that 20 of the 150 emigrants blocked in Catania will be accommodated by Albania, a few minutes after the Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, announced Albania’s help offer.

“We cannot replace replace Europe, but we are always here, on the other side of a sea where once we were the Eritreans suffering for days and nights in the middle of the sea, waiting for Europe to wake up! Yesterday Italy saved us and today we are ready to give a hand”, Bushati wrote.

This is a sign of solidarity that we appreciate a lot”, the Foreign Minister of Italy wrote in response.
