Homages for Dede Hajji Baba Reshat Bardhi

President of Albania, Bamir Topi, has paid today homage at Palace of Congresses, honoring World Leader of the Bektashi Order of Dervishes, Dede Hajji Baba Reshat Bardhi.

After placing flowers on the lifeless body of the high religious leader, at the Palace of Congresses, the Head of the State expressed his sincere condolences to the family and to the Bektashi leaders and members.

“We pay homage to a great man. As president of Albania, I come here today not only to honor Dede Hajji Baba Reshat Bardhi as an extraordinary and contributing institution to the restoration of spiritual belief, but also to remember him as a patriot. I can say that I feel privileged for having known this great man, a wise man, a balanced man. And I think that he will be a model for all of us, a point of orientation on how the man should behave in the society, as a leading star for institutional peace and in society”, Topi declared.

Prime Minister Berisha also paid homage today at the Palace of Congresses. The head of the government expressed his sincere condolences to the family and Bektashi Albanian leaders, and also to all devotees.

The Prime Minister praised the virtues and devotion of the World Dede Hajji Baba reshat Bardhi, on the restoration of Bektashism in Albania and for turning this faith into a strong symbol of harmony, understanding and hope.

“Today is a day of mourning and of deep sorrow for the passing away of the world and Albanian Bektashi leader. Baba reshat Bardhi, father Reshat, the World and Albanian leader of Bektashism, with his devotion and virtues was able to restore the Albanian Bektashism that has been for the Albanians not only faith, but also patriotism. He was able to transform it into a strong symbol of harmony, understanding, tolerance, faith and hope. On this occasion, I want to express my condolences to all Albanian Bektashi devotees, wherever they are, who lost today a leader, a man that with his abilities achieved the restoration of Bektashism in this country”, Berisha said.

Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, also paid homage and emphasized the role of Dede Hajji Baba Reshat Barhi as main protagonist of Albanian religious harmony.

“Dede Hajji Baba Reshat Bardhi belongs to a generation of religious clerics who generate a harmony between religions that is beautifully expressed today, with the representatives of all other religious communities hosting the ceremony of Baba Reshat Bardhi”, Rama declared.
