The government has reduced compensations of land-owners threefold. Official data from the Ministry of Finances show that the budget funds for compensating former property owners have been reduced to 1.3 billion ALL. For the same period of one year ago, the government has given 3.7 billion ALL.

The property compensation law changed in 2015, presenting a new formula that had a total compensation value of 50 billion ALL, which the government promised to return within 10 years, by giving 5 billion ALL each year.

But based on data issued by the government itself, the promise has not been kept for any of these years. Last year it was 4 billion, this year it is expected to be even lower.

The compensation process started in 2010 and for the past 7 years, the government has paid a total of 17 billion ALL, or 135 million EUR a year.

The government is also paying 40 million EUR of obligations coming from the Strasbourg Court.
