Former Interior Minister to propose amends for harsher laws against animal cruelty

The former Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, will propose new
criminal code amends to place harsher laws against animal cruelty and
better ones for the drug traffic.

Tahiri said that until now, people caught with 1 gram of cannabis have been sentenced the same as those caught with tons of it, leaving room for unfair punishments.

As for animal cruelty, Tahiri said that whoever uses cruel violence against animals, one day could do the same with people or even his own family members, turning into a danger for the society.
