The first Eurovision semi-final started today at 21:00.

The Albanian singer, Aurela Gaçe, will perform the song “Feel the Passion”, the English version of “Kënga ime”.

Gaçe, considered a few days ago by the news agency Reuters as the diva of the Albanian Music, compared with Tina Turner, will compete against 18 other representatives. Ten out of 19 semi-finalists will be chosen for the final night.

The second semi-final will be held on May 12th, with 19 other performers, 9 of which will have to leave the European festival.

The 20 songs that will come out of the two semifinals will join the “Big Five” group, consisted of Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Italy.

The winner will be chosen by the voters from home and professional juries of the participating countries. According to Reuters, the final night is expected to attract more than 100 million viewers from 45 countries.

This year’s Eurovision will be held in Germany, after the 2010 German winning song “Satelit”, performed by the 18 year old Lena.
