EU Justice Commissioner meets Albanian Minister about Judicial Reform

The European Commissioner for Justice, Vera Jourova, during a meeting with the Albanian Justice Minister, Etilda Gjonaj, in Brussels, said that the judiciary reform is a historic event for Albania.

In response to the Commissioner’s interest, Minister Gjonaj detailed the way new justice institutions will operate uninfluenced from political parties, a result of the mechanisms that guarantee independence.

Jourova will attend the meeting between the Justice and Interior Ministers of the EU and Western Balkan, which will be held in Tirana on October 4th and 5th.
