Deutsche Welle has reported about the decision of the Council of Europe, who decided to not bring observers for Albania’s local elections of June 30th.

German media say that the decision comes one day after the declaration of President Ilir Meta, who said that legally, there will be no elections on June 30th.

“This situation raises the question: will there be elections on June 30th, or not? This uncertainty is the argument used by the CoE for this decision”, DW wrote.

The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities at the Council of Europe, for security reasons, decided to withdraw the observers that they had planned for June 30th.
