Delays with government formation are hurting Kosovo businesses

Four months after the early elections, Kosovo is still without a government.

The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce says that this delay is causing damage to businesses.

“I want to underline that the damage caused by this delay are only related to the budget approval.

“However, the performance of businesses in the past months is not encouraging, and this has increased the confidence rate”, said Berat Rukici, Chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce.

According to Rukici, they had started a technical dialogue process with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

The main terms discussed during these meetings were the elimination of technical barriers that put obstacles to the free movement of people and goods.

But the recent delays with the forming of the government have also caused a stalemate with their progress.
