The Red and Black Alliance expressed its concern regarding the procedure
followed by the Parliament without hearing the voice of hundreds and
thousands of citizens, by refusing to review the population registration
draft-law.
“There is no transparency if a constitutional process will be held in a unilateral way, without taking in consideration the public and legal opinion for a matter that involves almost 4 million Albanians. The Albanian government and Parliament promised that they would hear all groups of interest, and the Alliance is ready to offer its assistance for such an important process”, declared the representatives of the Alliance.
According to them, the Alliance has been and remains in favor of population registration, but against the Minister Pollo draft-law, which aims to hold it on ethnic and religious basis without any objective criteria.
