Cannabis traffickers could start using indoors plantations

Police leaders believe criminal groups will try to use indoors environments for growing cannabis.

For this reason, the Chief of Police, Ardi Veliu, ordered 12 Districts to inspect any closed environment that could be used for cultivating cannabis.

This includes depots, tunnels and huge warehouses. Police is currently inspecting such places, including greenhouses.

During 2017, Police discovered dozens of cannabis production labs, some of which using technologically advanced lamps.

The most flagrant case was near the Mother Theresa airport and in Shkoza, near Tirana.
