The Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, is on an official visit in Macedonia where he met with the Prime Minister of Macedonia, Zoran Zaev.

Bushati emphasized in this meeting that the only way for Macedonia to continue its European path is to vote in favor of the Prespa Agreement in the popular referendum that will be held this September 30th.

Bushati appealed to every citizen to exert their democratic right and bring the Euro-Atlantic perspective to life.

“It is a historic duty for every Albanian citizen to vote massively and say yes to the agreement. It is a vital mission of the Albanian political class to show unity and mobilize the vote of Albanians”, Bushati said.

Both officials also discussed the need to make Albanian an official language in Macedonia, the soonest possible. For this reason they agree that a proper implementation of the monitoring mechanisms will guarantee Albanians a better and fairer approach to services, and better involvement in governance, development and construction of an open, all-inclusive society, oriented towards Europe.

The Albanian and Macedonian governments held the first joint meeting in Pogradec. PM Zaev stated that they are already working to prepare the second meeting that will be held in Macedonia. The visit of Minister Bushati continues with high-level officials and representatives of the Albanian political spectrum.
