The US Embassy in Albania congratulated through a press release what it
calls a victory of democracy and for the people of Albania.
While the final official result of these elections has not been released yet, the US diplomatic mission underlines that when both parties are pretending victory, most important is to wait the election certification in full accordance with the Election Code.
Our stance, the declaration says, was followed by a close consultation with the head of the EU delegation in Tirana and the head of the OSCE presence in Tirana.
The declaration concludes with congratulations for the Albanian people and for what the US Embassy considers “passing the finish line”.
