The growing political tension, provoked by the Central Election
Commission after deciding to count the contested votes and those
considered invalid after being cast in the wrong ballot boxes, has
intensified the diplomatic attempts for overcoming this situation.
Ettore Sequi, ambassador of the EU presence in Albania, held a consultive meeting with EU ambassadors accredited in Tirana.
The meeting that lasted more than 60 minutes in the offices of the European Union aimed to analyze the situation and to study all options for overcoming the crisis.
Diplomatic sources from this meeting confirmed for Top Channel that the ambassadors expressed their concern for the events that occurred after May 8th local elections.
Same sources confirm that the ambassadors have expressed their proposition for overcoming this tense situation.
Their propositions will be presented to both parties in the days to come.
