Ali Evsen Frozen Assets

Four companies that Ali Evsen represents with his shares have addressed a
legal request to the Court of Appeals and the General Prosecutor, Ina Rama,
through their lawyer Vladimir Peci.

The Company “Albanian Airlines”, “Elite Meica”, “Albanian Electronic Company” and “Nur Airway” have opposed in these two documents the measure of “preventive sequestration” for 12 bank accounts, as contradictory with the evidence and Albanian legislation.

With the memo sent to the General Prosecution, lawyer Vladimir Meci underlines that the government not only has frozen all the accounts in the banks where these subjects operate, but has also blocked their commercial and economic activity, putting them in a position that they are risking failure.

According to the lawyer, these actions were taken without collecting even the minimal proofs that could certify the existence of a criminal fact, in the base of which they could start a penal procedure. According to them, the order is based only on information of the Albanian police, which has reported the arrest of Ali Evsen in Madrid.

The history of money laundering investigations in Albania against Evsen has been accepted even in the decision of the Court of First Degree, when it announced the preventive sequestration of all bank accounts of the accused.

The lawyer says that the registration of a criminal investigation is not enough for justifying the sequestration, because there is no indication from the prosecution if Evsen’s arrest in Spain has anything to do with his activity in Albania.

The sequestration, according to Meçi, has affected many other people, even their personal bank accounts, without having any indication if they are involved in any illegal activity.

Mentioning the “Albanian Airlines”, Meçi says in this memo that by freezing of the activity of this company, they are endangering the interests of more than 25,000 passengers that have booked tickets .

Even in the complaint addressed to the Court of Appeals, the lawyer demands the nullification of the Tirana Court decision as unfounded, using the same arguments that were sent to the Albanian prosecution.
