Albin Kurti was reelected leader of the Self-Determination Movement, with 99% of the votes.

Some leadership figures of the party, such as Visar Ymeri, Dardan Molliqaj and Dardan Sejdiu decided to not vote, while Shpend Ahmeti voted a few minutes before the polls were closed.

Activist Teute Rrusta claimed the Self-Determination Movement has 30,000 members, but only 30% of them attended the voting process.

These debates against Kurti’s leadership, the founder of the Self-Determination Movement 13 years ago, confirm the division among its ranks, which has pushed many analysts to predict a possible rupture in the future, with Visar Ymeri forming a new political force.
