Albanian Airlines frozen

Tirana Prosecution froze all bank accounts of the investigated person,
the owner of Albanian Airlines, and the bank accounts of the company.

The news was confirmed not only by the sources from inside the task force that is investigating Ali Evsen for money laundering, but even by the Albanian Airlines company itself.

In an official communication for the media, Albanian Airlines says that after the media announced the arrest of their owner, the Agency of Money Laundering Prevention froze all company assets and released them in June 24th.

According to this press communication, on this same day, with a request of the General Prosecution, these bank accounts were frozen again.

The reaction of the company says that this order automatically freezes the commercial activity of this company.

The press release adds that this action stalls the continuity of the legal existence of this company, since the prosecution has blocked the accounts, not the company, and as consequence has frozen all its assets.

The Task Force Unit said for Top-Channel that the only accounts that were blocked are those of Ali Evsen, with a value of 1 million EUR, while the total value of all frozen accounts is more than 3 million EUR.

The businessman Ali Evsen, at the same time owner of Albania Airlines, was arrested last week in Madrid, suspected of money laundering.

The General Prosecution confirmed some hours later that the investigations had started in cooperation with Spain and Turkey, for discovering if there had been money laundering and to understand its scheme.

Sources from the Prosecution say that the verification process for the assets that the 49-year-old Evsen has in Albania has started , and the current result is that he has not made many transactions in our country.

Evsen is currently owner of some companies in Albania, while in Spain he was arrested for allegedly signing fictive agreements with the Egyptian Hussein Salem, who had close relations with former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
