The Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Kotzias, arrived today in Korca where he was received by his Albanian counterpart, Ditmir Bushati.

Korca was chosen as the place where both delegations will continue discussing bilateral matters, in an effort to advance with the talks held in Crete during November10 and 12th.

The three-day meeting at the biggest Greek island was concluded without any concrete result, just a joint declaration in which both parties admitted the importance of dialogue for finding stable solutions to the suspended matters between both countries.

The ministers will discuss hot topics such as the war law, maritime border, cemetery for the Greek military and minorities.

However, the climate of the talks seems positive, as confirmed by the Greek Minister himself during the first days of the year.

“2018 will be the year when we will find solutions to matters with neighbouring countries which have been suspended for years. We discussed the matters with Albania, with which we had positive steps, same as with the name issue in Skopje”, he declared.
